This event sometimes referred to simply as Stonewall started on June 28 1969 at the Stonewall Inn a New York City bar frequented by gay and gender. All LGBTQ people and allies are welcome.

The observance of Pride Month and earlier events like Gay Pride Day traces back to a parade held in New York City in 1970 to mark the one-year anniversary of what became known as the Stonewall Uprising. These are groups of people who for so long lived in the closet and hid their real. The purpose of the month is to recognize the impact that LGBTQ individuals have had on society locally nationally and internationally.

Pride Month was initially inspired by the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and works to achieve equal justice and opportunity for LGBTQ Americans. Our mission is to empower every LGBTQ person to live as their true self. We welcome exhibitors who support our community to participate in this event.

The Twin Cities Pride Festival is a CELEBRATION of the LGBTQ Community.
